For freeriders, powder slopes are like a blank canvas, and every line is unique. Blizzard and Tecnica provide the right tools for the job in winter 2026/27. Blizzard’s new Canvas freeski models are already works of art in their own right – the graphics were developed in collaboration with artist Penelope Misa. The ski itself combines the creativity and lightness of a freeski and brings them to the powder. Tecnica also introduces the Zero G Decoy, a hybrid boot that replaces the legendary Cochise: light enough for long ascents, powerful enough for tight couloirs and fast descents of the kind otherwise only the Mach can deliver. Two new releases that take the freeride experience to a new level, both visually and functionally.

Ride it like it’s art – the new Canvas freeski line

For the new Canvas series, Blizzard has developed three unique freeski models (100, 108, 118). The range specifically targets freeriders looking for playfulness, flow and float. Light, playful and disruptive: the Canvas series stands for creativity, positive energy and teamwork – from the first sketch to the finished ski. Together with Blizzard’s athletes, the product team spent two years working on the perfect ski for a new generation of freeriders, one that impresses both technically and visually.

The creative graphics were developed in collaboration with Japanese-Australian artist Penelope Misa. The concept is based on monotype, a special printmaking technique, and draws inspiration from the Blizzard athletes’ favourite photos – lines, shapes and textures. Rather than adding paint to a canvas in the usual way, Penelope removed it from the surface to change its appearance – just like freeriding, where you leave your individual mark on the powder. Each ski embodies the spontaneity and artistic freedom that define freeriding and are there to be rediscovered.

What athletes dream of: Tecnica Zero G Decoy

The Zero G Decoy is no ordinary evolution. With this hybrid boot, Tecnica opens up a new category for skiers. It combines the touring capabilities of the Zero G family with the downhill strength of the Mach series, creating a ski boot that offers versatile support for freeriders. The Decoy’s revolutionary approach lies in its uncompromising versatility: the ski boot is compatible with different ski types, ski widths and binding types. The hybrid boot is therefore aimed at advanced freeriders and progressive all-mountain skiers looking for a lightweight yet powerful and versatile ski boot. Whether on soft powder descents, in technical couloirs or on long ascents, the Decoy adapts to any terrain.

To develop the perfect ski boot, Tecnica worked with its American freeride team. The liner alone went through nearly 30 iterations. The result: a thicker injection-moulded PU shell for a powerful yet smooth feel, a reinforced Power Frame for downhill performance and the T-Hike system for maximum freedom of movement on the ascent. Thanks to integrated C.A.S technology, the hybrid boot can also be precisely customised to the individual shape of the foot. At around 1,650 grams, the Decoy remains light enough for long tours without compromising the stability and aggression needed for technical lines.
