Website delivery

Technical connection data, including IP address, time, browser information and requested address, is processed to deliver the website and protect its operation. The website is hosted through Lovable.

Visit and outbound-click statistics

BACKLINE records visited pages, language, referring domain, detected crawlers, advertising placements and clicks to external destinations. A pseudonymous daily identifier is derived from IP address, browser signature and date. These statistics do not store a plain-text IP address. Pseudonymous data is not equivalent to anonymous data.

Sign-in and external services

Account access and necessary session information are processed for signed-in users. Manufacturer, shop and social-media links lead to independent services with their own privacy terms. Embedded magazines may connect to their respective provider.

Newsletter (Mailchimp)

For the BACKLINE newsletter, the email address you enter is transmitted on submission to the mailing service Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., USA) and stored there. A connection to Mailchimp is only made when you click “Subscribe”. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter.

Shop (Ecwid)

The BACKLINE shop for ordering issues is provided via the shop service Ecwid (Lightspeed). Content from Ecwid is only loaded after you explicitly consent on the shop page (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw consent there at any time. After consent, your browser loads content from Ecwid, transmitting technical connection data such as your IP address. Order details are processed to fulfil the contract. Clicks on order buttons on magazine pages are counted in the click statistics before redirecting.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Please contact the email address above.
