Ready for new paths: EVOC presents new products for snow and alpine terrain

EVOC develops backpacks, bags and luggage solutions inspired by the brand’s travel experiences – whether in cities and countries, near or far, in the snow or on the trail. Discovering new things and exploring new paths are deeply embedded in EVOC’s DNA.

For the 2026/27 winter season, EVOC continues this approach, adding two new products for use in snow and alpine terrain to its established snow portfolio of ski touring backpacks, ski bags and protectors. With the LINE 22 E2 avalanche airbag backpack, EVOC combines its characteristic fit with an innovative electric airbag system. The TORSO PROTECTOR BACK brings expertise from mountain biking to winter sports: the ergonomic 3D LITESHIELD FLEX structure has been further developed for use in the snow.

Good preparation and reliable equipment are essential, particularly on challenging descents and tours away from groomed pistes. In an emergency, equipment has to work without fail. With the LINE 22 E2, EVOC is launching an avalanche airbag backpack designed to inspire precisely this confidence. It combines well-thought-out snow backpack features with the new electronic ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG SYSTEM. The E2 system is 40 percent more compact and 140 grams lighter than its E1 predecessor, while offering greater protection. The airbag now has a volume of 162 litres. To ensure it stays securely in place when it matters, it is connected to the backpack via five fixed anchor points. This exceeds the requirements of the EN 16716 standard.

One distinctive feature of the system is its supercapacitor technology: these electrical energy storage devices operate without chemical reactions and deliver consistent performance at temperatures from -30 °C to +50 °C. The charge status of the supercapacitors and AA batteries can be checked both on the integrated LCD display and via LEDs visible on the outside of the backpack.

Charging takes just 20 minutes via USB-C or, alternatively, 40 minutes using two AA batteries when no power outlet is available in the backcountry. To inflate the airbag, the E2 system uses a centrifugal compressor comparable to turbo compressors used in the automotive industry. It generates rapid airflow and high pressure, fully inflating the airbag within five seconds. Internal pressure remains constant for the first three minutes. Only then does an integrated pressure relief valve open to reduce the pressure and protect the material and seams. This ensures a long service life, even with repeated inflation.

This is where EVOC’s travel expertise comes into play: the ALPRIDE E2 AIRBAG uses passive electronic components that are not subject to transport, shipping or storage restrictions. As the system requires neither a gas cartridge nor a lithium-ion battery, the LINE 22 E2 is straightforward to take on flights – ideal for those who regularly travel between different destinations in winter.

All electronic components are developed and tested entirely in Switzerland. The system is certified to EN 16716 and designed for up to 100 deployments.

An innovation already proven in mountain bike protection is coming to snow sports for the 2026/27 winter season: temperature-insensitive EVOC LITESHIELD FLEX technology. Its ergodynamic 3D protective structure forms the basis of the new TORSO PROTECTOR BACK, combining the highest level of impact protection with flexibility and maximum freedom of movement.

The protector achieves protection level 2 under all test conditions from -20 °C to +40 °C. This ensures optimum protection even on very cold days. Individually adjustable shoulder, chest and hip straps allow a precise fit to the body. The hip belt is made from AIROFLEX, a highly durable fabric that is both flexible and air-permeable. It provides a secure fit and good ventilation, allowing the protector to be worn comfortably and close to the body even on long days in the snow. The TORSO PROTECTOR BACK is available in two sizes (S/M and L/XL).

The new LINE 22 E2 and TORSO PROTECTOR BACK make a day in the mountains even safer. This provides the freedom and confidence to explore nature, snow and the backcountry even more fully.
